Inspired

Well I was talking to my friend and I realized that I can post even if I don't have pictures. I think I was always procrastinating because I hadn't taken any pictures, but I figured out that this is mostly for my family and close friends. They will probably read it even if I don't have pictures and won't judge me. lol
So lately we've been pretty busy with Amy's wedding and now it's on to Jessie's wedding. There is so much love in the air. Whenever there is a wedding in my family I can't help but remember when Jay and I got married. What a wonderful time......almost 10 years later and our life is so different (but in a good way). I am grateful that we as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are able to be sealed to our family for eternity. That makes me so happy.
Today we started General Conference and Jenna was so amazing. She took out paper and just started writing down points that each speaker was making. It was so awesome I figure I don't have to take notes anymore, I'll just read what Jenna wrote. Seriously, it blew me away. She is such a sweet little girl and she will be well prepared for baptism. Ahhhhh! kind of freaking out that I have an almost 8 year old.
Cole is coming into his little personality and he is such a character. It's hilarious to watch him be silly, but he also is so sweet. He is always the one to have everyone give a big hug after we have family prayer. He spreads his little arms out as wide as he can and yells "Group Hug!" How can we not love that little sweetheart?!
There I blogged. I can sleep soundly tonight.

Remembering

In January I visited my grandpa's grave because it has been 1 year since he passed away. It is great to remember! He was an amazing man and I learned a lot from him. He didn't say much, so when he spoke everyone listened and everyone pondered on his words. He always made me feel so loved and so special. I remember quite a few years ago when I first saw him in a hospital, it was after he had a heart attack. I thought he looked so weak and so different from how he normally was. I guess I had always pictured him as being so strong (as we might do with our dads or grandpas). I didn't think he would ever get ill, let alone pass away. I guess I learned that we are all mortal beings and we pass through trials here on earth, and then eventually we move on to the next life. I know he is happy and busy with my grandma by his side in heaven. He has left me with many fond memories and an appreciation for family, friends, and life in general.

A Good Butt Kicking

Wow, so I went to my first spin class yesterday night. I knew it was going to be hard, but it was really hard. My not so muscular thighs let me down in a big way. Running is is much easier than doing a spin class. My butt hurts today (no surprise there) but I am a bit surprised I can actually walk today. Going down stairs yesterday after the class I thought my legs were going to give out. I guess I better keep going to the class so I can work my thighs which desperately need muscle in them. I wanted to do a boot camp class today, but unfortunately I feel like I would literally die if I did it so I'm going to forego the class and probably watch a movie with Jay instead. That sounds pretty good to me!

Great morning

Okay since Dec. 31 I've been working out every other day and I'm feeling good. I haven't pushed myself too hard yet, which I have learned in the past just makes me not want to keep going. So slow and steady is my motto right now. I need to get into a good habit of going and then I can punish myself with tortuous workouts. I also started a "no junk food" challenge with some of my family members. This means no chips, pop, chocolate(major challenge for me), fast food, ice cream, and other crappy foods. We are doing this for 6 months. Are we crazy? Just enough to do this. I didn't realize when we started that I have Jay's birthday and 3 of my kids birthdays and 2 weddings in my family all during this time period. Oh well, I'm not going back on it. I know it will help me feel better, be healthier, and be happier for my family.
Today I went to the gym at 6:30am, which was a miracle for me. If you know me you know that I am not a morning person, so I was pretty impressed with myself for getting up and going by myself to workout. I also know my prayers were answered last night when I prayed for help in getting up this morning.
I've always wanted to do a before and after picture of my weight loss and I think I might have the courage this time to do it. I don't know if I'm brave enough to put up the pictures until I've lost a lot of weight and can show something for my hard work though. Stay tuned...

Wedding cake

I finally got a picture of the wedding cake I made in the summer . It was fun to do and the bride was so easy going it made it less stressful.

These are all the signs that Jenna made for our talent show. I love her so much!
